Lumpkin gets 100 yards

OXFORD – Georgia shuffled its running backs Saturday night, but it didn't do a lot for the running game in the first half. But by the end of the game Kregg Lumpkin had 100 yards.

Against an Ole Miss team that gave up 240 rushing yards to Wake Forest last week, the Bulldogs gained 36 yards on the ground in the first 30 minutes in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Junior Kregg Lumpkin got his first start of the season, and former starter Thomas Brown was dropped to the third team, behind Lumpkin and Danny Ware.

Brown, though, ended up with the most carries, four for 10 yards. Lumpkin had three carries for 20 yards. Ware didn't carry the ball but caught one pass in the first half.
