ATHENS - Josh Kendall's news and notes from Georgia's fall practices.

ANOTHER NIGHT GAME: Georgia’s Oct. 7 home game against Tennessee will kick off at 7:45 p.m. and be televised by ESPN, the network announced Monday. It will be the Bulldogs’ second appearance this season in that time slot and third night game overall.

ONE DECISION MADE: Brent Schaeffer has completed just 47 percent of his passes and thrown 504 yards, five interceptions versus three interceptions, but he’s still Ole Miss’ quarterback.

Backup Seth Adams outplayed Schaeffer last week against Wake Forest, and head coach Ed Orgeron considered a change.

“We talked about it, and we’re going to stick with Brett,” Orgeron said Monday.

Ole Miss’ offensive problems are a combination of poor decision-making by Schaeffer, poor blocking and poor route-running, Orgeron said.

“Hopefully, we can get better at all three things,” he said.

COX HONORED: Joe Cox did more than rally Georgia to victory on Saturday. He extended the Bulldogs’ perfect record for having a player honored by the SEC office.

Cox, who threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns, was named the SEC freshman of the week by the conference office Monday.

ANOTHER POLL: Georgia is ranked ninth in the first Harris Interactive Poll, which was released Monday. The Harris Interactive Poll replaced both the Associated Press and coaches polls as part of the BCS formula.

The team most likely to take notice of this week’s release is Auburn. The Tigers are ranked second in the Associated Press poll and third in the coaches poll, and are third in the Harris poll.
