ATHENS ­ University of Georgia junior Fernando Velasco was named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday.

It marks the third consecutive week the SEC office has awarded a Georgia player with one of its weekly honors (Quentin Moses, Charles Johnson).

Fernando Velasco graded out at 90 percent and had two dominator blocks in Georgia¹s 34-0 win over UAB. The Bulldogs finished the game with 271 yards of total offensive, including 146 yards on the ground. Georgia¹s five scoring drives averaged 8.2 plays and 3:57 in time of possession, including three drives over four minutes.

Georgia¹s offensive line has allowed just three sacks in the first three games, which ranks third in the SEC. The offense is tied for first in the league in scoring at 33.3 points per game.
