WKU Week: Thursday Practice Report

Posted Aug 31, 2006

ATHENS The 14th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs went with practice plan ³B² on Thursday, moving workouts ahead one hour to avoid a downpour that rolled into town as the short practice ended.

Georgia¹s regular Thursday routine for game week is a practice in helmets and shorts that focuses on scout-team work, usually less than two hours long.

³We¹re thankful we got it in,² said head coach Mark Richt. ³We got a little wet at the end but it was a good day. We threw and caught the ball well, which is what you hope to stay ahead of schedule.²

Richt also discussed a depth chart change that happened mid-week on the defensive line. Redshirt freshman Kade Weston will start in place of senior Dale Dixson at one of the defensive tackle spots, but Richt added that Dixson is expected to play ³a bunch² against Western Kentucky.

On the defensive line the Bulldogs will start senior Quentin Moses and junior Charles Johnson at defensive ends, and Weston and sophomore Jeff Owens at the tackles.
