ATHENS – Sophomore forward Kendrick Johnson won’t return to the Georgia basketball team this year, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Telegraph on Tuesday.

Johnson, a native of Morton, Texas, played in 14 games last year before having season-ending ankle surgery. He averaged 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in those appearances.

He is expected to transfer to another school to continue his career. His loss is a blow to the already post-thin Bulldogs, who were 15-15 a year ago.
