Some Dawgs settling into Scout team work

ATHENS – Quarterbacks weren’t the only players making moves Monday at Georgia football practice.

The Bulldogs also assigned players to the scout team for the first time, giving another indication of which true freshman still have a chance to play this year and which are fighting an uphill battle.

A spot on the scout team is no guarantee that a player will redshirt this season, Richt said, but it was notable that center Kevin Perez was in a scout team jersey and guard Chris Davis was not. Tackle Josh Davis also had a new jersey Monday.

“Some guys will work some scout team and maybe not redshirt and some guys may not play on the scout team and still redshirt,” Richt said. “We really don’t want to make that judgment until game 4 or 5.”
