"We had a little bit of a shortened practice due to our scrimmage situation (on Saturday)," head coach Richt said. "We're going to get up in the morning and do some kicking and hit about every phase of the (special teams) game. In the afternoon, we'll get a good scrimmage in and see where everybody is at. It ought to be, hopefully, very spirited and some great competition because this is going to mean a lot to begin to gauge where everybody is."
"I don't know exactly how yet, but Coach Bobo and I have already talked about doing it as evenly as we possibly can," Richt said. "Sometimes when weknow we've got two or three scrimmages, we might say this scrimmage so-and-so is with the '1s' and this guy is with the '2s' and then switch it up the next time. With this scrimmage, I've said let's try to our best to get everybody as equal reps as possible because the depth chart may move afterwards. And it may not so don't expect 100 percent depth chart movement, but it could."
Richt had positive news about injuries to offensive guard Chester Adams (hip pointer), defensive guard Ray Gant (shoulder) and defensive end Marcus Howard (quadriceps). Howard practiced for the first time this fall.
"I don't know if Chester will go tomorrow, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go on Monday," Richt said. "Ray is day-to-day. Ray feels a whole lot better the second day than the first day. That doesn't mean he's ready by any means. I don't know how much work Coach (Jon) Fabris gave him, but (Marcus) was supposed to go."
