2006's big question: How will new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp's system work with the Tiger defense?
Inside the numbers vs. Georgia (as seen in the upcoming Dawg Post 2006 Season Preview):
That's how many 100-yard rushers Auburn has had since Georgia last had one in the series - Orlandis Gary's 130-yard game in 1998. Rudy Johnson's 152 yards in 2000, Carnell Williams' 167 yards in 2001, 124 yards in 2002 and 101 yards in 2004, as well as Irons' 179 last year prove that the Tigers have had better talent at running back over the last half decade.
SEC Media Day's quote to note:
"Didn't know my brother was here." – Head Coach Tommy Tuberville after one person clapped when he was introduced to the press.
"Thanks for doing that. The last time you did that I almost go run out of here." – Tuberville on being picked to win the SEC by the media. 2003 was the last time Auburn was picked to win, but they struggled and Tuberville almost lost his job. The Tigers were undefeated the next season.
"That's a good percentage." - Tuberville when asked if he was glad to see that the media had selected Auburn to win the SEC even though the press has only picked it correctly twice in the last 14 years.
"We are going to go Tuesday and Thursday morning." – Tuberville of Auburn's new practice schedule for this fall. Kentucky also practices in the mornings at times as do many NFL clubs. The Tigers will eat breakfast before the practices, which will also be a first.
"If we are doing something wrong please tell us because we'll change it." - Tuberville on a responding to the New York Times' story questioning Auburn's academics.
