Evans talks spring ball

ATHENS – Bryan Evans spoke with Dean Legge for a short time about Georgia’s spring practices.

Dean Legge: How has your spring been so far?

Bryan Evans: I think I have done well. I have had a couple of days where I was shaky, but I am coming into spring realizing that there is some stuff that I have to learn. I think I have overcome a lot of my problems from last year.

Have things slowed down for you out there?

Yes. I am starting to adjust to concepts, and read the offense better. After taking the redshirt season I do think everything has slowed down a lot.

Who is the toughest receiver to cover right now?

Mikey Henderson.

Why is that – because he’s new?

He just switched from corner to receiver, and I think everyone always knew that he was quick, but when he comes out of his break it’s so hard to determine what he’s going to run. Also, you have to respect his speed, so you try different techniques – but I think he’s the hardest to cover right now.

How would you grade yourself so far this spring?

Right now, I would say that I am around a B. I could do a lot of things better technique-wise. I think I have competed as well as I can. I think my overall knowledge is probably my downfall right now.
