Another Dawg arrested

ATHENS – Georgia defensive lineman Marquis Elmore, a rising senior from Folkston, was arrested Sunday on charges of driving with a suspended license.

Coach Mark Richt is aware of the incident and is gathering information, according to Claude Felton, Georgia's associate athletic director for communications. No punishment has been announced.

Elmore was booked into the Athens Clarke County jail Sunday evening and then released on $1,500 bond. He is the fourth Bulldog known to have been arrested since November, joining Antonio Sims, Dannell Ellerbe and Ian Smith. The previous three arrests all came from alcohol-related incidents.

Marquis Elmore enrolled at Georgia in 2002 with a tremendous amount of hype but has totaled just five tackles in his first three seasons. He was not credited with a tackle in 2005. Recommended Stories
