Posted Feb 18, 2006

ATHENS - University of Georgia center Ian Smith, who will be a redshirt freshman this fall, has been suspended for the first two games of the 2006 season by head coach Mark Richt for violation of team rules related to conduct.

"I'm very disappointed and penalties for behavioral issues are going to be severe," said Richt. "Playing time is valuable to all playersand it will be very limited to those who cannot conduct themselves in an appropriate manner."
