Jeffrey Owens was named to the Second-Team defense, while Massaquoi was an Honorable Mention selection on offense. In addition, Owens was picked as a member of The Sporting News' SEC All-Freshman Team.
Owens, a 6-foot-3, 280-pounder from Sunrise, Fla., has recorded 16 tackles, including three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, this season. Owens also has 12 quarterback hurries and he has recovered a fumble.
Mohamed Massaquoi, a 6-2, 180-pounder from Charlotte, N.C., is the Bulldogs' leader with 34 receptions. He has gained 462 yards, second on the team, and has scored two touchdowns.
Owens, Massaquoi and the Bulldogs will face West Virginia on Jan. 2 in the Nokia Sugar Bowl in Atlanta.
