The game will be played Jan. 21 in San Antonio, Texas. The East-West Shrine Game is the oldest collegiate all-star game in the country. The game is played to raise money and awareness for the 22 Shriner Hospitals, which provide orthopedic and burn care at no cost to children across the country. To date, the game has raised more than $14 million and has treated more than 750,000 children.
Golston, a 6-4, 292-senior from Tyrone, recently was chosen as a defensive co-captain by his Georgia teammates. Golston has recorded 14 tackles this season, including five in the SEC Championship Game against LSU. For his career, he has 88 tackles, including 7.5 for loss.
Kedric Golston will be playing for the East, which will be coached by Arkansas' Houston Nutt.
Before the Shrine Game, Golston and his Georgia teammates will take on West Virginia in the Nokia Sugar Bowl in Atlanta on Jan. 2.
