"(In the evening practice) we went for about 20 minutes on fundamental work and then had four eight-play drives with some of the younger guys and some guys who didn't get a lot of reps throughout the year," Richt said. "They all looked good."
The Bulldogs practiced without 13 seniors who went through undergraduate commencement ceremonies in Stegeman Coliseum early in the day. The group that earned their diplomas included Gerald Anderson, Greg Blue, John DeGenova, Mike Gilliam, Lee Jackson, Brian Jordan, Bryan McClendon, Dennis Roland, Ryan Schnetzer, D.J. Shockley, Jamario Smith, Russ Tanner and Will Thompson.
Making their first appearance on the practice squad on Saturday was CB Asher Allen of Tucker, Ga., and WR Kris Durham of Calhoun. Both players are enrolling early and will begin classes with Georgia's spring semester.
"We gave them a little fundamental work but didn't scrimmage them," said Richt. "They're excited and just wanted to get a taste of it."
Kickoff for the Nokia Sugar Bowl will be 8:30 p.m., and the game will be televised by ABC.
