Tech Week: Tuesday Practice Report

Posted Nov 22, 2005

ATHENS - The Georgia football team worked out for two hours at the Woodruff practice fields on Tuesday as temperatures dipped into the low 40s with wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour.

The No. 13-ranked Bulldogs practiced in full gear in their second of four team workouts leading up to Saturday’s game at No. 20 Georgia Tech.

Earlier in the day head coach Mark Richt addressed the media and spoke of the importance of Saturday’s contest.

“We’ve got a big game this week for sure. That’s an understatement. We’re playing a great football team. Georgia Tech has done a fantastic job. They are solid all the way around. They definitely have a lot of heart. They play big in the biggest games, and this certainly is a big game. I am as impressed as I can be with them on both sides of the ball,” Richt said.

Saturday’s meeting will be the 98th between the two schools since 1893 with the Bulldogs leading the series 56-36-5. The winner of the game receives the Governor's Cup Trophy. Georgia has won four straight in the Richt era.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be televised by ABC.
