ATHENS - The weekend didn’t bring all good news for Georgia’s football team. | |||
|
Redshirt freshman safety Antonio Sims was arrested on charges of DUI, underage possession of alcohol, improper driving and failure to obey signs or signals almost 12 hours after the No. 13 Bulldogs wrapped up the SEC Eastern Division championship. Sims, 19, was checked into the Athens-Clarke County jail at 3 a.m. Sunday morning and released at 6:31 to Aaron Bonding, according to the Clarke County sheriff’s Web site. Coach Mark Richt is aware of the charges but has not annouced disciplinary measures, said Claude Felton, Georgia’s associate athletic director for sports communications. Sims played in Georgia’s 45-13 victory over Kentucky but did not record a tackle. He has yet to be credited with a tackle this season after missing the first half due to a broken leg. |
