ATHENS - Georgia beats Kentucky to win the SEC East for the 3rd time in 4 years - here's how they scored.


First quarter

Key moment: The visiting Wildcats were aggressive early, and went for it on fourth and three from Georgia's 30. Quarterback Andre Woodson rolled right to pass, but saw more open field than open targets and got nine yards. It set up UK's field goal to take an early lead.

Key stat: Kentucky used up eight minutes and seven seconds - more than half of the quarter - on a drive that led to a field goal.

The man: Woodson was 7 of 8 for 34 yards, adding 11 yards on two rushes.

Score: Kentucky 3, Georgia 0

Second quarter

Key moment: On fourth and three from his 47, Georgia's Gordon Ely-Kelso took off on a fake punt and gained 34 yards, setting up a touchdown pass from D.J. Shockley to Leonard Pope four snaps later.

Key stat: Georgia's defense stiffened up and held Kentucky to 21 yards on 15 plays.

The man: UGA tailback Danny Ware got the call three times and gained 59 yards, 52 coming on a touchdown run that gave the Bulldogs some momentum.

Score: Georgia 24, Kentucky 3

Third quarter

Key moment: Bryan McClendon made a great catch in coverage for a 21-yard touchdown, his first of two touchdown catches Saturday.

Key stat: Georgia, with more backups in than starters, outgained

Kentucky - still with mostly starters - 115-49.

The man: McClendon caught three passes for 33 yards and two touchdowns in the period.

Fourth quarter

Key moment: The final gun going off, signifying the end of a game that was out of control before halftime.

Key stat: The quarter being played with 99 percent backups, Georgia's reserves averaged 3.9 yards a snap.

The man: Backup quarterback Joe Tereshinski completed four of five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.

Score: Georgia 45, Kentucky 13
