4-Star DL Visits the Georgia Bulldogs
Two of the most memorable things for Graves happen to be a pair of the nicest men on campus.
"One of the things was talking to Coach Richt. He's a great guy and I could learn a lot from him. Also meeting some of the players was great. Personality wise me and Roderick Battle (his host) really got along. He's just a really nice person. He took me around Athens and we walked around. I thought it was a great lively city. It was very cool."
John was wrapped up in the atmosphere inside of Sanford Stadium.
"The noise in that stadium, you could barely hear yourself think. The noise level was crazy. I don't think I ever saw even one fan sit down. The fans I mean, they were nuts. Those are some hardcore fans down there. They love their team and you can feel it. Unfortunately UGA came up short and you could tell the fans really felt it along with the players. I think it's important to have that. It shows the character of the fans."
As is the case with many recruits, the Dawg Walk was right up there as the highlight of his visit.
"The Dawg Walk was amazing. I went through there and a lot of fans knew my name. Some even held up signs with my name on it."
Of all the facilities at UGA, Graves was most impressed with the Bulldogs new Academic Achievement Center.
"I got a chance to walk around in the Academic Center and they had a contract with Dell to get all the new equipment every three years. That is great. They have all the new technology."
The one other recruit that he spent the most time with was WR David Ausberry from California.
"I talked to David Ausberry a little bit. We were just talking about our experiences around at places but we were also talking about how great the visit was."
According to John, the visit has bolstered Georgia's status with him.
"This visit definitely brought up Georgia to me. I got more familiar with a little of how they play. I also got a better idea of the character on their team and I was really impressed by that as well."
