ATHENS - News and notes from Georgia's practices.

If anything, quarterback D.J. Shockley’s knee is ahead of schedule.

“Today it felt like I was about 100 percent as I was running around and cutting,” he said after Wednesday’s 90-minute practice. “Today was the best of all the days.”

Shockley missed the Florida game due to a sprained MCL.

UNDER THE LIGHTS: Georgia will hold its final practice of the week tonight under the Sanford Stadium lights. The Bulldogs are expected to begin the workout at 8 p.m. to simulate the kickoff time of Saturday’s game.

“Just to get a little taste of what it’s like to be under our lights again,” Richt said. “We hope that might help them.”

The move was necessitated by class schedules rather than preparation issues, Richt said.
