Lady Bulldogs Knock Off EA Sports

ATHENS - Sherill Baker and Tasha Humphrey led the Georgia women’s basketball team with 22 points apiece as the Lady Bulldogs won their final exhibition game against the EA Sports All-Stars 100-80 on Sunday at Stegeman Coliseum.

The Lady Bulldogs took control of the game by outscoring EA Sports 31-11 over the first 8:22. Georgia’s biggest lead was 28 points at 57-29. In the second half, Georgia reached its biggest lead of 31 at 90-59.

“It was very acceptable. We did a lot of things very well and I am pleased,” Georgia coach Andy Landers said. “There were a couple of times where we had a full shot clock and passed it and we worked it around and eventually got very good shots. Those are the types of things that are nice to see at this point.”

Janese Hardrick and Desiré Bostice each had 11 points off the bench for the Lady Bulldogs. Megan Darrah added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Ebony Tanner (Richmond) scored 28 points for the EA Sports All-Stars and Tamia Williams (Florida) added 14.

Georgia will open its regular season next Sunday against defending national champion Baylor in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic in Lubbock, Texas.
