ATHENS - So far, the 2005 football season hasn’t been much fun for wide receiver A.J. Bryant, a Peach County graduate. Bryant had two catches for 16 yards in the first four games, and he has missed the last three games due to a pulled groin muscle.

He finally returned to practice full speed this week and expects to play against the Gators. He doesn’t want to talk about how he’s going to play, though.

“I ain't going to say. I don’t want to jinx myself,” he said. “I just think I’m ready to get back.”

Wide receivers coach John Eason is optimistic about what A.J. Bryant can contribute this week.

“The key always with him is confidence,” Eason said. “He has all of the ability. It’s just developing confidence in himself. Since the injury, he’s been back, and he’s feeling good about what he’s been doing. It’s just a matter of having the opportunity.”
