Jean-Gilles SEC Lineman of the Week

ATHENS - University of Georgia senior Max Jean-Gilles has been honored as the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Max Jean-Gilles, a 6-4, 340-pound native of Miami, Fla., graded out at 88 percent and had three "dominator" blocks in Georgia's 23-20 win over Arkansas this past Saturday. The victory moved the fourth-ranked Bulldogs to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the SEC. Jean-Gilles anchors a veteran unit that helped the Bulldogs score on four of their first eight possessions against the Razorbacks.

This marks the second time this season that Jean-Gilles has been named the SEC Player of the Week as he earned the recognition in week six for his performance in Georgia's win over then eighth-ranked Tennessee in Knoxville. Overall, a Bulldog offensive lineman has won this honor five times this year.

Up next, Georgia faces 16th-ranked Florida in Jacksonville Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally by CBS.
