ATHENS – Former Georgia fullback Jeremy Thomas is tackling something new – the restaurant business.
A few months removed from a free agent stint with the Cincinnati Bengals, Thomas is now working with partners at The Junkyard Café, a new restaurant open from morning to night with a distinct Bulldog feel.
“I handle the marketing and promotions,” said Jeremy Thomas. “Chuck Harris, who played in the 1970s, is the owner.”
The two former Dawgs are revving up for Thursday’s ribbon cutting which takes place at 10 AM.
“We are interested in creating a fun atmosphere for everyone to come and enjoy,” Thomas added. “We have something for everyone whether it is a family looking for a nice place to take the kids, or a college student looking to study using our wireless internet. Our trademark “Finish the Drink” t shirts are very popular.”
The Junkyard Café, located at 494 Baxter Street across from Brumby Hall, offers a variety of fresh sandwiches and salads – chicken, ham, turkey, gyros, and Italian sandwiches all specially made in the kitchen with all different fixings. The café also has all kinds of
Georgia
paraphernalia and is a great place to pick up a picture or t shirt on gameday.
