The team practiced in shorts and spent the workout going through assignments while also working with crowd noise for a good portion of the practice. Georgia head coach Mark Richt said the practice would be beneficial for his team after going through tough practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. After Wednesday’s practice, Richt noted that some players looked a little leg weary, however he said he was not concerned about his team not being ready when it plays on Saturday night.
“With a day like today, and tomorrow off, and most of the day Saturday and then with adrenaline, they’ll be fine (for the game),” said Richt. “On Tuesdays and Wednesdays every single year since I have been coaching sometimes you watch those guys and think they look tired. But they should be tired (because) they are two tough practices back to back.”
Before practice, Richt announced that senior DT Gerald Anderson, sophomore SE A.J. Bryant, junior SE Mario Raley and junior LB Tony Taylor will all miss this Saturday’s game due to injury. Richt said that Bryant has started to show signs of recovery from a groin injury, however said at this point both he and Raley’s status for next week’s game versus Arkansas is questionable.
Georgia faces the Commodores on national television this Saturday at 7:15 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised by ESPN 2.
