Dean Legge makes his weekly picks for the 23 schools in the South.

1. Virginia Tech – Still the best in the South

2. Georgia – Win over Vols was huge; sitting pretty in SEC – and under national radar

3. Alabama – The team to beat in the SEC? Them and Georgia

4. Florida State – Still undefeated, but has not been tested since first game of season

5. Miami – Can still win ACC by beating Tech at the end of the season

6. LSU – Game with Gators determines Tigers’ SEC fate

7. Florida – Two losses will be the end of SEC East hopes for Gators – even before game with Georgia

8. Auburn – Still wondering about the Tigers – they seem to be improving

9. Tennessee – Georgia owns Tennessee – it’s that simple

10. Arkansas – Easy win last week; win over Auburn is the only way to turn season around

11. North Carolina State – Big win over Georgia Tech; now underachieving Clemson on Thursday night

12. Wake Forest – Kept is tight against Florida State until the end

13. Maryland – Played well against Temple – Turtles now catch breath and pray during off week before Virginia Tech

14. Georgia Tech – This team was ranked? Shame on Auburn for losing to Tech this season

15. Ole Miss – A winning season seems out of the question

16. Virginia – Exposed; overrated, etc…

17. Mississippi State – Bulldogs did cover at Florida

18. Vandy – Can’t be happy to see Georgia this week

19. South Carolina – Win over UK was great – win over Vandy after week off would help bowl shot

20. Kentucky – Time is not on Rich Brook’s side

21. Clemson – Why tune in to these Tigers? 2-4 spells doom.

22. Duke – Murdered by Miami – can they hang with Georgia Tech?

23. North Carolina – Pounded by Louisville – suddenly the worst team in the South
