ATHENS – Dean Legge takes a look at the critical numbers in Georgia’s matchup with Tennessee.


This year’s game with Tennessee will be the fourth time in the series that it will be a Top 10 matchup – the Vols lead 2-1 in these games. Georgia’s win came in the most recent Top 10 battle, an 18-13 win in 2002 in Athens.


That’s Georgia’s percentages of touchdowns scored during red zone possessions. The Bulldogs have failed to score four times in 18 trips, or 22% of redzone possessions.


That’s how many times the Bulldog defense has stopped the opposition in the red zone. In seven red zone possessions during the 2005 season, Georgia’s defense has surrendered five touchdowns and two field goals.


That’s the last time a Georgia running back had more than 100 yards rushing. Robert Edwards had 131 yards, but #15 Georgia fell to Tennessee for the seventh consecutive game 38-13.

Tennessee has shut Georgia out seven times. The Bulldogs are 0-6-1 in those contests. Georgia has shut Tennessee out six times going 0-5-1. The lone dual shutout came in the 1906 contest.
