ATHENS - Peach County product A.J. Bryant has hit another bump in the road of his collegiate career.

The Bulldogs’ wide receiver suffered a pulled groin at practice this week that could keep him out up to three games.

“I hate it for him,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said. “He always seems to have little setbacks here and there. I really hate to get too high on anybody, but I really think God’s got a great plan for that young man.”

A.J. Bryant, a sophomore who was hurt running a route in practice, has caught two passes for 16 yards this season. He won’t make the trip to Knoxville this weekend with the No. 5 Bulldogs, and he is doubtful for the Oct. 15 Vanderbilt game. He could return in time to play Arkansas on Oct. 22, Richt said.

Bryant played as a true freshman last year but saw action in only seven games due to a foot injury. He caught three passes for 58 yards that season.

Georgia receiver Mario Raley (one catch, 7 yards) also could miss three games due to a leg injury suffered in practice this week. He won’t make the trip this weekend and probably not next week but could play against Arkansas.

The Bulldogs will add freshman Demiko Goodman to their travel list in order to have six receivers in Knoxville. Goodman will join regulars Bryan McClendon, Sean Bailey, Mohamed Massaquoi, Kenneth Harris and T.J. Gartrell.
