Practice Notes: Tennessee Monday

Posted Oct 3, 2005

ATHENS - The Georgia football team, fresh off its first bye week of the season, began preparations on Monday for this weekend's SEC matchup at Tennessee.

The Bulldogs are 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the SEC, and they were idle last week. Tennessee improved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the SEC with its win at Mississippi State.

Georgia went through a full pads practice on Monday. Normally, the Monday practice is conducted in shorts and helmets, but because of the off week, Georgia's coaches were able to begin installing Saturday's game plan.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said he is happy with the way his team has played to this point of the season.

"They have played extremely hard," Richt said. "That's the thing I'm most proud of. Offense, defense, special teams - they've played extremely hard. That's the gauge of how a team is doing, not how loud and emotional you are. For the most part, we have played hard and disciplined."

Saturday┬╣s game in Knoxville will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by CBS.
