ATHENS - Josh Kendall reviews the injury status of the Bulldogs after Saturday's win over ULM.

NEW INJURIES: Wide receiver Sean Bailey didn’t play Saturday thanks to a lingering shoulder injury from Wednesday’s practice. Bailey didn’t practice Thursday, but the Bulldogs didn’t rule him out of action until Saturday.

Richt said the Bulldogs knew before the Dawg Walk that Bailey wouldn’t play, but wide receivers coach John Eason said he didn’t finally decide until warmups. T.J. Gartrell took Bailey’s place in the starting lineup.

Backup safety Drew Williams, a walk-on, suffered a significant right knee. He definitely won’t play next week and could be out the entire season.

“He’s hurt,” Richt said.

Williams was injured covering Georgia’s third kickoff of the game and lay on the field in obvious pain for several minutes. Starting safety Tra Battle, a former walk-on from Mary Persons High, kneeled beside Williams and held his hand as team doctors tended the injury on the field.

OLD INJURIES: As expected, starting running back Thomas Brown (shoulder) and linebacker Jarvis Jackson (thumb) didn’t dress out for the game. Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (ankle), who was listed as questionable before the game, didn’t dress out either. They were joined by defensive tackles Marquis Elmore (shoulder) and Kade Weston (hand) on the sideline.

Brown, Ellerbe and Bailey all will be back for the Mississippi State game on Saturday, Richt said.

“I think Jarvis has got a chance, too,” Richt said. “He’s got a pretty good tolerance for pain.”

Said Jackson, who'll wear a cast covering his entire right hand if he plays Saturday: “Yeah, I’m back."

Linebacker Brandon Miller played on pulled quadricep muscles and was taken from the game in the team’s training van, but he also is expected to be ready next week.

“I was really pleased he was able to play,” Richt said. “If he hadn’t, we’d have really had an issue.”
