Rushing

Georgia ran the ball 32 more times than it threw it against South Carolina, but that ratio won’t be so big today. Danny Ware probably will get the start as Thomas Brown rests a shoulder injury, and Kregg Lumpkin should get plenty of carries. ULM doesn’t have a back averaging more than 35 yards per game this year. Edge: Georgia

Passing

Richt probably will be itching to get his passing game back on track this week, and it should be the perfect game for quarterback D.J. Shockley to bounce back from his first disappointing performance as a starter. Six-foot-six ULM receiver Drouzon Quillen will be a touch matchup for Georgia’s shorter cornerbacks. Edge: Georgia

Defense

Georgia’s defensive front should run right through the Indians’ offensive line, which has three starters who weigh less than 286 pounds. Linebacker depth could be an issue for the Bulldogs due to injury. The Indians’ base set uses three safeties. One of them, Kevin Payne (21 tackles) is a standout. Edge: Georgia

Special teams

Richt credited special teams for the Bulldogs’ win over South Carolina last week. Punter Gordon Ely-Kelso pinned the Gamecocks inside their 20-yard line four of five times, and place-kicker Brandon Coutu put more than half his kickoffs into the end zone. ULM has a weapon in punter Joel Stelly, one of the best in the country. Edge: Georgia
