ATHENS – University of Georgia senior offensive tackle Dennis Roland, Jr., was named the Southeastern Conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Week according to an announcement by the SEC office on Monday.

Dennis Roland (6-9, 309 pounds) was part of a Georgia offensive line that enabled the Bulldogs to rush for 238 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 17-15 victory over South Carolina. Included in that rushing total was a career-best 144-yard performance by Georgia sophomore TB Thomas Brown, who averaged 7.2 yards per carry and also scored one touchdown.

According to film grades, Roland graded out at 95 percent and also had two “Dominator” blocks. Through the season’s first two games, Roland and the rest of the Georgia offensive line have helped Georgia ball carriers average 5.1 yards per carry. In addition, they have allowed only one sack in 50 pass attempts.
