Practice Notes: South Carolina Wednesday

Posted Sep 7, 2005

ATHENS - Ninth-ranked Georgia continued preparations for its upcoming Southeastern Conference opener with South Carolina, holding a 90-minute workout in jerseys, shorts, shoulder pads and helmets Wednesday.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt said the Bulldogs had a "business-like" practice, and he praised the scout team for providing a great look as the offense prepare to face a defense that will throw multiple sets at the Bulldogs.

"It's hard to simulate mass confusion, we've got them (scout team) in the right jersey numbers, and they are giving us different looks," said Richt. "I'm sure they (South Carolina) will dial something up from the past or something new, we'll have to make adjustments."

Richt announced the game captains for the USC contest, and they will be Max Jean-Gilles (offense), Quentin Moses and Greg Blue (defense) and Tony Taylor (special teams).

Kickoff for Saturday's game is slated for 5:36 p.m. ET, and the contest will be televised nationally by ESPN.
