PEP TALK: Quarterback D.J. Shockley got a particularly inspiring pep talk Tuesday night from Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Charlie Ward, who played under Richt at Florida State.
“He was so hyped he had a chance to talk to Charlie Ward,” said his mother, Tanya Shockley.
TAKE THAT: Shockley doesn’t think he’s going to have to put up too many points to win Saturday’s game, despite the fact Boise State was second in the nation with 48.9 points per game last year.
“I’m kind of biased about their offense,” Shockley said. “They’ve played some good teams, but they haven’t played our defense. I really don’t expect them to put up too many points on our defense.”
BYU was the only team to hold Boise State under 30 points last year. The Cougars gave up 28 in a one-point loss to the Broncos.
