Georgia improves to 2-1 on the season while Georgia Southern is now 2-2.
Alexandra Oquendo led the Bulldogs with 26 kills on a .476 hitting percentage. She started the nigh with nine quick kills in the first game. Julia Petruschke finished with her third double-double of the year at 20 kills and 21 digs and Maria Taylor had a career-high 17 kills. Brooke Burlingame, the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Week, had 21 digs.
Iulia Porumbescu had 22 kills and 22 digs for the Eagles.
Georgia will host Grambling tomorrow night, Fri., Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Ramsey Center. One lucky fan will win two tickets to the Georgia's Saturday football game against Boise State.
