Byrd looking to soak up knowledge

ATHENS – C.J Byrd spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after one of Georgia's fall practices. | ||||
Dean Legge: Can you talk a little about this fall and how it’s been going for you? C.J. Byrd: So far it’s been kind of confusing. I have been trying to get used to the new defense, and its been kind of hard to play at full speed. I am string to understand it a little bit. I learned the defense for our offense, but now I have to go back to Boise State – game planning. It feels like I am starting all over. Right now I feel kid of confident, but I still have a lot to learn. Have things slowed down for you yet? Yes. I think I got used to that halfway through camp, and I think I’m used to that now. I think it’s not bad – I flow with it. How is your situation with playing time? It seems like everything is up in the air at safety. Right now Coach Martinez does not talk to us a lot about playing time – that’s all up to him. How are special teams going? It’s going ok – I’m not starting on any special teams right now, but I’m close; I’m second string and I still have time. What’s the number on thing you have been working on? Knowledge – trying to learn everything, and getting to know how to play full speed without thinking about it. |
