Adams moves to guard

ATHENS - The Bulldogs have moved 6-foot-4, 335-pound sophomore Chester Adams from tackle to guard. The position change took place Saturday, he said.

“I’m all right with it,” he said. “Any way I can help the team, I’ll do it.”

The move is an indication the team may be concerned about the health of veteran Josh Brock, who has been out for more than a week due to a concussion. Brock said he has visited a neurosurgeon and could return any day.

Chester Adams worked with the second team Monday while starter Max Jean-Gilles sat out at least part of the day due to cramps. Fernando Velasco remains the top backup at guard.

“With (Jean-Gilles’) problems with cramping, I have to be ready to step up,” Adams said.

The move leaves Georgia with just starters Daniel Inman and Dennis Roland and backup Ken Shackleford at tackle. Offensive line coach Neil Callaway said the team will go with that rotation until Turner returns to the practice field.
