2005 Fall Camp: Day 10 News and notes

ATHENS - News and notes from Georgia's 10th day of fall camp.

Due to minor injuries throughout the team, the Bulldogs are plugging holes on both sides of the ball. Tuesday, long-snapper Brian Jordan was lined up as a second-team guard during stretching exercises. The first-team defensive line consisted of Ray Gant and Marquis Elmore.

Offensive linemen Nick Jones (ankle), Josh Brock (concussion) and Zeb McKinzey and defensive linemen Kedric Golston (hip) and Gerald Anderson (knee) all sat out. All the linemen are considered day-to-day.

WAITING GAME: The Bulldogs haven’t decided for sure if linebacker Tavares Kearney will need season-ending knee surgery.

“We still don’t know how we’re going to treat his situation,” Richt said. “We have an idea, but sometimes these things change.”

PRACTICE REPORT: The Bulldogs pushed back Tuesday’s practice three hours due to lightning.

“I bet the heat index went down 20, 25 degrees, and it showed,” Richt said. “There was a lot of energy.”

Wide receivers Sean Bailey and Mario Raley sat out for a second straight practice due to tight hamstrings. Wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi still is out with a more serious hamstring injury, as is defensive tackle Kade Weston.
