Day two practice report

Posted Aug 6, 2005

ATHENS - The University of Georgia football team held a two-and-a-half hour practice at the Woodruff practice fields on Saturday.

According to Georgia head coach Mark Richt, today’s practice was more productive than Friday, the first day of Georgia’s preseason practices.

“Yesterday was a little disappointing,” said Richt. “I thought there would be more energy. I guess there was also a lot of nervous energy out there yesterday. It could also have been because of the weather; it was really humid outside. Today was more of what I expected the first day to be like. The competition and energy was better and people were making plays. Once again the weather could have played a role in how they performed seeing as it was not as humid today as it was yesterday.”

Some of the highlights Richt noted from Saturday’s session included the play of the defense, some good catches by the receivers and the play of the true freshmen.

The Bulldogs will have a day off on Sunday before returning to the practice fields on Monday for a single practice in the afternoon.
