SEC Media Days: Auburn and Tommy Tuberville

HOOVER – Here's a look at the day Auburn Head Coach Tommy Tuberville and the Tigers had at the SEC's annual Media Day event.

Last season: 13-0

Last game vs. Georgia: 24-6 win

Series Record: Auburn leads 52-48-8

Most memorable Georgia win: 2002 – David Greene to Michael Johnson on fourth down. The game propels Georgia to its first SEC title in 20 seasons.

Most painful Georgia loss: 1983 – Georgia loses to Auburn as the Tigers snap Georgia's run of three SEC titles.

Starters returning: 12

Best player: Quentin Groves

Biggest Weakness: Replacing running backs

2005's big question: Can Tre Smith come close to the production of Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams?

Inside the numbers vs. Georgia (as seen in the upcoming Dawg Post 2005 Season Preview):

101

That's how many yards Auburn out-rushed Georgia last season. 2004 marked the fourth time in five seasons that the team with more rushing yards at the end of the game won. Thanks to David Greene and Michael Johnson's amazing game-winning play, Georgia's 2002 team is the only team is this series without more rushing yards that still won the contest.

SEC Media Day's quote to note:

"This is the most talented team I have had since I've been here." – Head Coach Tommy Tuberville about his 2005 team.

"Nothing has been done to solve the problem – we (are) using band aids." – Tuberville on college football's way to determine the national title.

"It was hard to swallow." – Tuberville on not being able to play for the national title last season.

"You don't think I grinned a little but, do you?" - Tuberville when asked about going undefeated in 2004 after nearly being fired in 2003.

Legge's projected SEC finish: 2nd SEC West

Legge's All-SEC Tigers: OL Marcus McNeill, DL Stanley McClover, DL Quentin Groves, LB Travis Williams, PK John Vaughn, P Kody Bliss
