Last game vs. Georgia: 31-17 loss (2002)

Series Record: Georgia leads 28-12-1

Most memorable Georgia win:

Most painful Georgia loss: 1976 – Georgia loses to the Rebels 21-17 in the team’s only regular season loss of the year.

Starters returning: 12

Best player: McKinley Boykin

Biggest Weakness: Offensive line

2005’s big question: Orgeron can recruit, but can he win?

Inside the numbers vs. Georgia (as seen in the upcoming Dawg Post 2005 Season Preview):

17

That’s margin of victory for the Dawgs over the Rebels in the last three contests played. Mississippi and Georgia has played every season from 1966 to 2002, but because of SEC scheduling the two old foes won’t play against one another until 2006 in Oxford.

SEC Media Day’s quote to note:

“I don’t think we at Ole Miss can put all of the weight on the quarterback because we don’t have that type of quarterback. Until we have that quarterback we are going to play with all eleven.” – Rebel Head Coach Ed Orgeron.

“About as hands on you can imagine.” Orgeron on how much say he will have in Ole Miss’ defense as the defensive coordinator.

“You can see the fire in his eyes, and you’re like – wow man.” – Ole Miss quarterback Mike Spurlock about the Rebel’s Head Coach.

Legge’s projected SEC finish: 5th SEC West

Legge’s All-SEC Rebels: None
