Jones was a bargain and a half when the Bulldogs signed him out of obscurity a few seasons ago. Now a junior, Jones will likely start at strong guard and could be the backup center at the same time. He’s done that sort of thing already in 2003. Josh Brock (15 career starts) returns to the Bulldog lineup as a redshirt junior after sitting out 2004. His recovery will certainly factor into the starting spot at strong guard. Fernando Velasco (1 career start) and Zeb McKinzey are his backups, but both can move to tight guard if needed. Both Velasco and McKinzey need to get ready for 2006, when they will both get more playing time after Max Jean-Gilles and Russ Tanner are gone. No question – Georgia is very deep at guard.
