ATHENS – For the third time since the New Year a coach will be leaving the Georgia Bulldogs.

Defensive ends Coach Jon Fabris, who has been with Mark Richt’s staff since 2001, is leaving the team to coach at Oklahoma under Bob Stoops. The Sooners have a void in their coaching staff because Bo Pelini left to be the defensive coordinator at LSU.

Since arriving in Athens Fabris coached standouts Charles Grant, Josh Mallard, Will Thompson, and David Pollack. He has coached at Georgia Tech (J.V. Defensive Backs), Washington State (Asst. Defensive Backs), Washington State (Tight Ends), Iowa State (Linebackers), Notre Dame (Asst. Offensive Line), 1997-98, Kansas State (Defensive Ends), South Carolina (Defensive Ends), and professionally with the Cleveland Browns.

Along with his defensive end job, Fabris was also responsible for several aspects of the Bulldogs' special teams.

"Jon has done an outstanding job in his four years at Georgia and I'm glad we had the experience of having him as part of our staff," said Richt. "No one works harder than Jon and I wish him nothing but the best."
