Lionel Mapp showed up to the Kennedy/CES Invitational at a whopping 6-5 and 370 pounds. He had moved extremely well for a player that would normally be 50 pounds lighter than him. His 27 inch vertical was outstanding for an OL of any size. I saw enough film on him in the fall to know that he should be invited to the combine, but just how good of a prospect for the Class of 2006 is he? Some questions still needed to be answered. ScoutTV answers those questions.

Lionel Mapp certainly proved on Saturday at the Kennedy/CES Invitational that he had the physical tools to be a dominant player on the next level, but looking good at a camp is one thing. Looking good where it matters the most, on the field is another.

It's only natural to have reservations about the on the field ability of a player that weighs in at 370 pounds as a high school junior and one of the top prospects for the Class of 2006.

Can he move his feet?

Does he maintain his block?

Does he go hard on every down?

How hard does he work when the play is away from him?

Does he have the conditioning?

Lionel Mapp passes that test with flying colors. He is matched up with a quick defensive end from Decatur that is literally half his size, and he is able to keep him at bay with solid footwork. 

Georgia has the early advantage for Mapp, but he will have the opportunity to play wherever he wants.

This ScoutTV presentation is shown from Greene County's big win over Decatur in the playoffs, and it is shown in chronological order as it happened in the game. You'll see Mapp making some of his best blocks of the day in the 4th quarter of a 21-21 game (last three clips). 

Included on his reel is a block where he occupies one man, then extends his arms to chip another, fueling the joke that big Lionel Mapp may actually be able to play guard and tackle.
