100 Yards... Each?

TAMPA, Fla. -- Running back Thomas Brown is back from what he thinks was a phantom injury. Fellow freshman Danny Ware is "100 percent" comfortable with the cast on his right hand.

And Danny Ware is expecting a big day from both of them. Ware, who is Georgia's second string tailback behind Thomas Brown, said he thinks he and Brown each can gain 100 or more yards against Wisconsin in Saturday's Outback Bowl.

"It all starts up front," Ware said. "If things get going early, it's going to be a pretty good game."

Georgia didn't have a single running back rush for more than 100 yards in a game last year. Brown and Ware combined to do it seven times this year, three times for Brown and four times for Ware.

Brown missed the No. 8 Bulldogs' final two practices in Athens with what Coach Mark Richt described as a concussion. Brown, Georgia's leading rusher with 764 yards, returned to practice when the Bulldogs (9-2) convened here on Sunday night.

He was full speed on Tuesday and said he doesn't think he ever had a concussion.

"I'm not exactly sure I had a concussion in the first place," he said. "I just went and told them I had a headache, and they assumed it was a concussion."

Ware also declared himself 100 percent healthy despite the cast covering the bottom half of his right hand, which he broke on Nov. 27 against Georgia Tech. He hopes to get the cast off in time for Saturday's game but won't no for sure until he visits a doctor on Friday.

"I hope so, but I doesn't really matter now," he said. "I've been playing with it this long."

Ware has practiced well with the cast and doesn't seem to be bothered by the fumbling problems he had during the season, Richt and running backs coach Ken Rucker said.

"I don't want to jinx him, but he's practiced real good with the limitations he's had," Rucker said.

"I don't think he's fumbled one time," Richt said. "It's hard to even tell he has a cast."
