10 Dawgs Named to All-SEC Teams

ATHENS, Ga.------Ten Georgia players were named to the Coaches' Pre-Season All-SEC Team this week and David Pollack and Thomas Davis were two of four unanimous choices on the inaugural list.

Auburn

Dustin Colquitt
of
Tennessee
were also unanimous picks by the coaches.
Georgia
's tandem of
David Pollack
and
Thomas Davis
highlight the defensive side of the pigskin. Pollack, a senior DE from Snellville, Ga., was a first-team All-America last season by the American Football Coaches Association and second-team by AP and Sports Illustrated. He finished 2003 with 92 total tackles, including 13.5 for losses and 7.5 sacks. He was named SEC Player of the Year by the league's coaches in 2002.
Davis, a junior FS from Shellman, Ga., was a first-team All-SEC pick by AP and a second-team All-SEC choice by the league's coaches in 2003. He led the SEC in total tackles last season with 138, including 8 for losses and 4.5 sacks. He was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week last season against

, gaining 11 total tackles.

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players, thus a unanimous selection earns 11 of 12 first-team votes.
