ATHENS, Ga.------Ten Georgia players were named to the Coaches' Pre-Season All-SEC Team this week and David Pollack and Thomas Davis were two of four unanimous choices on the inaugural list.

RB Carnell Williams of Auburn and P Dustin Colquitt of Tennessee were also unanimous picks by the coaches.

Georgia's tandem of David Pollack and Thomas Davis highlight the defensive side of the pigskin. Pollack, a senior DE from Snellville, Ga., was a first-team All-America last season by the American Football Coaches Association and second-team by AP and Sports Illustrated. He finished 2003 with 92 total tackles, including 13.5 for losses and 7.5 sacks. He was named SEC Player of the Year by the league's coaches in 2002.

Davis, a junior FS from Shellman, Ga., was a first-team All-SEC pick by AP and a second-team All-SEC choice by the league's coaches in 2003. He led the SEC in total tackles last season with 138, including 8 for losses and 4.5 sacks. He was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week last season against Clemson, gaining 11 total tackles.

Georgia's other first-teamers include OT/OG Max Jean-Gilles, QB David Greene, FLK Fred Gibson and MLB Odell Thurman.

On the second team Georgia placed one player on each side of the ball with SE Reggie Brown and CB Tim Jennings.

Two defensive players, DT Kedric Golston and SLB Arnold Harrison, were voted to the third team.

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players, thus a unanimous selection earns 11 of 12 first-team votes.
