School played one of the top games of the week last week in a showdown vs. Douglass
on Saturday night. As we are well versed in saying, big players make big plays
in big games, and this was never more true than it was on Saturday.
The final score was 16-7 with Stephenson coming out on top, and three of the
senior leaders for the Jaguars were a big reason why.
Josh Johnson played a very good game from his middle linebacker position.
He read the plays well, and he was solid in his tackling. He made several big
hits, and he helped limit the Astros to only seven points. Johnson played middle
linebacker and fullback the entire game. He had several nice blocks from his
fullback position, but it was his play at linebacker that really stood out.

Michael Grant played solid on defense, and he had a highlight reel
play when he returned an interception for a touchdown. He is a force on special
teams as well. Johnson makes his presence felt in Grant's big play as well. He
tips the ball that is intercepted, and that blur you'll see at the end of
Grant's run is Johnson hustling back for the last block.

Douglass took a brief 7-2 lead in the second quarter, but they made the
mistake of kicking the ball to Raeshon Ball. Ball made a couple of quick
moves, and he was gone. That score put the Jags up 9-7, and they never trailed
