Dawgs' OL Settling In

ATHENS - Georgia lined up Tuesday with a starting five from left to right of John Theus at tackle, Brandon Kublanow at guard, David Andrews at center, Greg Pyke at guard and Kolton Houston at right tackle.

Richt said he needed to talk to offensive line coach Will Friend to see how solid that group is in those roles.

“I’d say we’re probably a little less settled right this minute than we have been maybe in years past,” Richt said. “There’s still some guys that might be able to change a coach’s mind.”

Mark Beard got some work at left tackle with the first unit Tuesday. Dantzler is also a factor at right tackle and Isaiah Wynn at left guard.

  This and that

Georgia is asking fans on its website and on social media to “Spread the Red!” by wearing red for the season opener against Clemson on Aug. 30. “We’re asking everyone to wear red this game and make it one of those memorable moments, memorable games, memorable atmospheres,” Richt said. And, if you are wondering, “No black jerseys,” Richt said when asked about it.

Wide receiver Chris Conley said the injury he was battling this preseason was a shoulder subluxation. “I’m doing well now,” said Conley who caught a touchdown pass in Saturday’s scrimmage.

Georgia will hold a rehearsal scrimmage at the stadium Wednesday with the frontline players playing against a “Clemson” team.
