Swann Seeing Strides

ATHENS - Damian Swann is seeing his teammates make moves of their own.

Swann sees others making strides in secondary

Damian Swann admits that defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt’s comment this week that the senior was the only player in the secondary playing what he considered “winning football,” gave him a shot of confidence, but Swann said he needs more than a little help from his friends.

“For us to win games, it’s going to have to be a group thing, especially on the back end,” the senior cornerback said. Swann, though, sees some players on the back end emerging on the Georgia defense.

“I’ve got a lot of confidence in these guys,” Swann said. He mentioned safety Corey Moore as having a “great camp,” and safety Quincy Mauger as having a “good camp.”

Freshman safety Dominick Sanders “is not afraid. He’ll come in there and stick his nose in there. That’s what you need from the young guys when we’re practicing against the ones and they’re going against the ones, when they’re not afraid to run up against Todd (Gurley) or run up against Keith (Marshall).”

Walk-on Aaron Davis was said to have two interceptions on Wednesday.
