Tech Week: Tuesday Practice Report

FLOWERY BRANCH - Due to a steady rain throughout the day on Tuesday, the Georgia held a two-hour practice inside the Atlanta Falcons' indoor facility in Flowery Branch.

The Bulldogs ( 7-4) practiced in full pads for the second consecutive day leading up to Saturday's game at Georgia Tech (7-4).

"This is the first time we've been to Flowery Branch in several years," head coach Mark Richt said. "We got in a lot of good work here today, and I thought the scout team did a good job."

Richt and selected players also took part in the Bulldogs' weekly press conference earlier in the day where they discussed the matchup with Tech.

"One of the things that stands out to me is that they are not only one of the best rushing teams in America, but they have one of the best rush defenses in America," Richt said. "They are No. 4 in rushing and No. 10 against the run. They are also top-15 on offense and on defense in the red zone. Those are tremendous statistics."

Georgia Tech averages 316 rushing yards per game, while allowing only 104 yards on the ground. Georgia enters the game averaging 180 rushing yards, and the Bulldogs are third in the SEC, giving up just 138 rushing yards on defense.

"We've got to bring our best to have a chance in this game," Richt added. "I'm just very impressed with what I'm seeing from Georgia Tech. I think our guys understand how important this game is."

The Bulldogs and Jackets are set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, and the contest will air nationally on ABC. Georgia is 11-1 in the series under Richt.
