Kentucky Week: Monday Practice Report

Posted Nov 18, 2013

ATHENS - Georgia began preparations for this week's matchup with Kentucky by holding a one-hour session under the lights on the FieldTurf portion of the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday.

The Bulldogs are 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the Southeastern Conference, while the Wildcats are 2-8 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Saturday's game in Athens will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU. The contest will be the last one for the Bulldogs against SEC opposition.

Monday's practice was the first for the Bulldogs since their 43-38 loss at Auburn last Saturday.

"All of our focus tonight was on Kentucky," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "We got our kicking work in and we started putting in the offense and the defense. It was a good start to the week and it's important that we keep it up every day moving forward."

Richt said the captains for Saturday's game will be the members of the senior class, who will be recognized in a pregame ceremony. Quarterback Aaron Murray, end Garrison Smith, safety Connor Norman and fullback Corey Campbell will represent the Bulldogs for the coin toss and any on-the-field situations.

In other news, it was announced the Saturday, Nov. 30, game between Georgia and Georgia Tech in Atlanta will be televised by ABC, ESPN or ESPN2 with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. The network determination will be made after this week's games.
